At my internship school, the culture, norms, and climate are deeply rooted in the school’s mission and vision, as demonstrated by the actions of various stakeholders committed to making a positive impact in our community.

Bus drivers serve as the first and last point of contact for students each day. They set a welcoming tone for the school environment by greeting students warmly and ensuring a safe and positive journey to and from school. In doing so, they embody the school’s mission to foster a moral and wholesome environment. Their genuine care helps students feel valued and connected, creating a sense of safety and belonging that nurtures their overall well-being and readiness to learn.

New teachers infuse fresh perspectives and enthusiasm into the school, embracing the vision to “Learn. Lead. Change the World!” (A.L.A., 2024). Their innovative and student-centered teaching approach reflects a commitment to providing the best educational experience. By cultivating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment, new teachers inspire students to feel cared for and motivated to lead and make a difference in the world. Their dedication to both academic and personal growth encourages students to view themselves as leaders and change-makers in accordance with their faith.

After-school program leaders play a vital role in extending the school’s mission beyond regular hours. They offer additional support and enrichment activities that resonate with the school’s vision. By creating a safe and supportive space for students to explore their interests and develop new skills, these leaders help students feel connected to the school community. This involvement fosters a sense of being cared for, as students recognize that their growth is valued both during and after the school day.

Through their unwavering dedication and actions, these stakeholders not only exemplify the school’s mission and vision but also cultivate an environment where students feel connected, cared for, and empowered to learn, lead, and change the world.
